3 Steps to a BriLiant shine - Getting the most from our metal polishes.
All products manufactured by English Custom Polish do not contain anhydrous or ammonia based chemicals, which can actually harm metal surfaces. Blended for specific tasks, they are used extensively by: Antique dealers and collectors, classic and vintage car clubs, motorcycle and car enthusiasts, automotive, motorcycle & transport museums, professional concours restorers, polishers, showmen, housewives and hobbyists.
Each one of our polishes will achieve an incredible finish in it’s own right, use them in combination with each other and they will rejuvenate, restore and bring back to life any metal surface.
BriLiant Metal Polishes are now the polishes of choice for The National Railway Museum and the National Motor Museum.
There is simply no finer metal polish available.
Nş 1 Metal polish and restorer
This is our starter polish for use when commencing any metal restoration job.
It will remove severe oxidisation and heavy tarnish, rust and blemishes from any metal surface. It is the coarsest of the polishes and will give a good base on which to achieve a high quality finish with our other polishes. Once the heavy dirt and oxidation is removed you can use the appropriate polish to suit the metal being cleaned. (DO NOT USE on plated metal such as gold or silver!).
Nş 2 Use any polish labelled 2 after the metal restorer depending on the metal being polished.
Aluminium & Stainless Steel Polish (silver label on bottle). Provides an amazing finish on all aluminium wheels, engine castings, clutch and brake levers indeed all aluminium parts will shine like never before.
Copper & Brass Polish (green label on bottle). This is a super low maintenance polish that contains ph neutral wax which can keep polishing to an absolute minimum. This polish is designed to be used on antique brass, copper, bronze. In a museum environment motorcycles, steam locomotives and vintage and classic cars can be kept in pristine condition without the need for frequent re-polishing.
Chrome and Hot Environment Polish (red label on bottle). This is a wax free polish designed to polish chrome and remove blueing on chrome exhaust pipes and to polish engines and other heat affected surfaces on motor cycles classic and vintage cars. Ideal for aluminium, brass, bronze, copper etc. This polish will also restore a beautiful shine on nickel, one of the finest metals of all. As there is no wax content there is no yellowing of the polish with heat, it also allows chrome to breathe!
Nş 3 Premium Polish (purple label on bottle). This is our Show Polish. It is a competition - concours winning polish for regularly polished vehicles. This polish should only be used on pre-polished surfaces and buffed by hand to obtain the ultimate shine. Suitable for final polishing of stainless steel, nickel, aluminium, copper and brass. An enhanced shine and long term protection can be achieved by a single application of this polish.
Gold & Silver Polish (gold label on bottle). This is the finest of all polishes, so whether you are cleaning a family heirloom, gold rings, bracelets, candelabra or antique silver, you can obtain a truly sensational finish that offers a level of protection that is simply unbeatable at any price. This polish is safe on both gold and silver plate and can be used as a final polish on other metals if required.
Application Instructions
In all cases apply the polish in the same way:
Shake the bottle well to ensure complete mixing. (30 secs min).
Apply a small amount to a cloth and work in to a small area in a circular motion, overlapping the area as you polish. Do not allow the polish to dry before buffing off.
Keep polishing even when the cloth turns black until you start to “feel the shine”.
Turn over the cloth and wipe off the black residue and polish until clean.
IMPORTANT! Then buff with a clean cloth until all the residue has gone and continue to buff until the required shine is achieved (Our microfibre cloths are ideal for this as they remove the residue from delicate parts and engraved or embellished articles).
Repeat as required to maintain the shine.
